Parent & Player Code of Conduct

 As an organization committed to the teaching and enjoyment of youth soccer, the Galaxy Soccer Club seeks to promote the highest standards of courtesy, sportsmanship and positive behavior among its players and parents. All players and families are expected to demonstrate the principles in this Code of Conduct while engaging in activities related to Galaxy.

 

Player Code of Conduct

 

•-Be at the field on time. Make sure you are rested and in uniform for each game and practice.

•-Support your coach and follow his/her rules. If something is bothering you, talk with your coachin private.

•-Help your teammates get better and have fun.

•-Be positive, don’t criticize your teammates.

•-Learn the Laws of the Game and follow them.

•-If fouled, don’t retaliate.

•-Show respect for our playing fields.

•-Show respect and courtesy to referees, opponents, coaches and parents.

•-Accept the results of each game and be gracious to your opponents, win or lose.

•-Always do your best.

•-Treat others as you would like to be treated.

 

Parent Code of Conduct

 

Team & Player Support

•-Understand team schedules and obligations. Have your child at the field at the expected time.

•-Ensure that your child is sufficiently rested and properly dressed for each game and practice.

•-Inform your child’s coach in a timely manner when school, family or other obligations will prevent your child from attending games, practices or other team activities.

•-Support your child’s coach and team rules. Discuss individual player concerns privately with your coach.

•-Promote a climate of enjoyment among other team parents.

 

Sportsmanship & Personal Conduct

•-Cheer in a positive manner. Applaud quality play by all players. Avoid negative criticism.

•-Avoid giving instructions and attempting to coach from the parents’ sidelines. Parents’

instructions can be confusing and possibly contrary to the coach’s instruction.

•-Show respect and courtesy to match officials. Do not audibly criticize the decisions of referees or assistant referees.

•-Show respect and courtesy to opposing players, coaches and parents.

•-Accept the results of each game and encourage your child to be gracious, regardless of the game outcome.

•-Allow the coach to coach, the referee to officiate, and the players to play the game.

 

Club & League Policies

•-Observe the rules and policies of the Galaxy Soccer Club and all affiliated leagues and tournaments.

•-Pay club and team fees in accordance with required schedules.

•-Show respect and appreciation for club playing fields and facilities.

•-Provide volunteer support for team and club activities.

•-When concerns arise regarding your child’s coach or with club rules or policies, bring them to the attention of the Director of Coaching and Executive Director in a timely, discrete manner.
