U8 GIRLS HEAD TO 3V3 NATIONALS
Girls from Galaxy's U8 team (Alexa, Avery, Delany, Emma, Maya, Mena, Natalia, Natalie, and Sophia) were winners of the Kick It 3v3 tournament, held in Naperville during July. The girls went undefeated in the local tournament, winning the championship game by a score of 8-0. The team then went to Racine, Wisconsin in August and won the Midwest Regional Championship. Despite the pouring rain, the team won the championship game by a score of 5-1. Best of luck to GirlsRock in the next round of the tournament, the national championship, taking place in January in Disney World, Florida.

GIRLS U18 TEAM WINS PROSPECTS SHOWCASE
Galaxy Soccer Club would like to congratulate our U18 Girls team after they were crowned champions of the Hidden Gems Division of the 2010 Prospects Showcase this past weekend. The girls won one game and tied one in round-robin play before defeating the Schaumburg Cosmos 2-0 in the championship match. Congratulations to the Galaxy Soccer Club U18 Girls team for a fantastic performance. The team is coached by Paul Fawbert.

GALAXY TEAMS SHOW WELL IN KALAMAZOO
Several Galaxy Soccer Club teams were successful at the Kalamazoo Invitational Soccer Showcase over the weekend of June 19-20.

The U13 Boys Blue team reached the final of the tournament after defeating the Pickering Powers in the semifinal round. In the championship game, the team was narrowly defeated by Libertyville Premier. The team is coached by Brett Strang.

The U15 Boys Blue team brought home the championship trophy after going undefeated in their four games. Over the course of the weekend, the boys outscored their opponents 16-5. The team is coached by Brett Strang.

The U17 Boys Blue team also reached the final of the tournament after winning two games and tying one in the group stage. In the championship match, the boys defeated the Bartlett Hawks in penalty kicks to be crowned champions. The team is coached by Marcus Jenkins.

The U18 Boys Blue team placed second in the tournament after finishing with a record of three wins and one loss. After cruising through the round-robin stage with a goal differential of +9, they lost a tough fought game against Valley United Cosmos in the final. The team is coached by Jim Connor.

Galaxy Soccer Club congratulates all of our teams for a very successful weekend at the Kalamazoo Invitational Soccer Showcase!

The Galaxy Soccer Club has concluded their official tryouts for the Fall 2010 season. However, spots are still available on the following teams:

Girls U8
Girls U12
Girls U13

If you have an interest in joining Galaxy Soccer Club, tryouts can still be arranged on an individual basis.

U13 GIRLS BLACK TEAM WINS CHAMPIONSHIP IN OSWEGO
The U13 Girls Black team brought home a championship trophy from the Oswego Soccer Classic over the weekend of May 28-30. The girls won all four of their games without conceding a goal, outscoring their opponents 13-0. The girls played extremely well and Galaxy Soccer Club congratulates them! The team is coached by Nick Trotter.

BREAKING NEWS - GALAXY SOCCER CLUB AND KICKERS SOCCER CLUB ANNOUNCE SENIOR GIRLS' (U15 - U18) MERGER
The Galaxy Soccer Club and Kickers Soccer Club are proud to announce the merger of our Senior Girls Programs (U15 to U18). This will be effective beginning with tryouts this month for the Fall 2010/2011 season. The alliance came about to provide improved soccer opportunities for players in the area. Both clubs share similar core values and a strong commitment to player development. We are all very excited about the future of our Senior Girls Program.

The benefits of coming together are numerous. They include enhanced player development and the creation of highly competitive teams with improved performance at local, regional and national levels. This will bring expanded access to top quality facilities. Together we will be able to provide our players the best coaching, training and resources in the area. We are driven to “raise the bar” in soccer development. 

An informational meeting will be held on Thursday, May 13th, 8:15 pm at the Eola Community Centre (Eola Rd & Long Grove Rd.).
