GALAXY SOCCER CLUB FUTURE STARS SOCCER CAMPS
The Galaxy Soccer Club will once again be running Galaxy Future Stars Soccer Camps in conjunction with the Naperville Park District. Camps are being held according to the following schedule:

Micro Soccer – Ages 4 – 6 9:00 am – 10:30 am
Academy Soccer – Ages 7 – 11 9:00 am – 11:00 am

2009 GREAT LAKES SOCCER CHALLENGE
The Galaxy Soccer Club proudly presents the 2009 Great Lakes Soccer Challenge to be hosted at the Naperville Polo Fields (Naperville, IL).
Tournament Scheduled for September 18 – 20, 2009
Age Groups:
Boys U8 - U14
Girls U8 - U18
The Competition:
Minimum three (3) games. Championship games at all levels
Team Placement:
All Teams will be placed in appropriate levels based on previous performance in Leagues, Tournaments, and State Cup Tournaments.
Cost:
U8 (6v6): $500.00
U9 (7v7): $500.00
U10 (7v7): $550.00
U11 (9v9): $550.00
U12 (9v9): $550.00
U13 - U18 (11v11): $625.00
IMPORTANT: All entry fees include parking. NO additional parking fees will be collected at the fields.

GALAXY GIRLS U10 BLACK TEAM WINS THE OSWEGO SOCCER CLASSIC!
Way to go Galaxy Girls U10 Black 98-99! The Galaxy Girls U10 Black team placed 1st in the Girls U10 A Bracket in the 2009 Oswego Soccer Classic on May 23-34. The championship game was tied 2 to 2 at the end of regulation play. They played two overtime periods which were scoreless and then it came down to penalty kicks. Galaxy won the penalties 3 to 2! The team consists of: Jaida Breese, Clare Bumpus, Carolyn Carpenter, Madeline Cremin, Libby DeWeirdt, Morgan Dudycha, Emmie Kaiser, Katie Kawinski, Kaela Khan, Julia Lange, Katie McNamara, Hannah Moore, and Allie Paltzer. The team is coached by Bill Andrews.
GALAXY BOYS U12 BLACK TEAM FINALISTS IN OSWEGO
The Galaxy Boys U12 Black team took home the second place trophy at the Oswego Soccer Classic Tournament over the Memorial Day weekend. Their record for that tourney was 3-1-0. The boys are coached by Alex Wake.
GALAXY GIRLS U12 BLUE GO 4-0, SCORING 22 GOALS AND ALLOWING ZERO, TO WIN THE ARMED FORCES DAY CUP
The Galaxy Girls U12 Blue won the Armed Forces Day Cup this weekend. The tournament, located in the Quad Cities, drew teams from all over the 
GALAXY SOCCER CLUB TEAMS SUCCEED AT MIDAMERICA CUP
Galaxy Soccer Club saw success at the MidAmerica Cup in Peoria , IL on April 25 & 26, 2009. Nine teams participated in this tournament, including the Boys' U16 Blue, U16 Black, U15 White, U14 White, U13 White, U11 Black, Girls' U13 Blue, U11 Blue, and U10 Blue teams, with each team representing Galaxy Soccer Club well. Congratulations to the Boys U14 White Team, who won the White division Championship! Congratulations also to the Boys U16 Blue team and the Girls U13 Blue team, who were finalists!

UP, UP, AND AWAY!!
On Thursday, April 16th, Todd and Dana Fink climbed into the ReMax balloon in the field at Welch Elementary School, and sailed from southwest Naperville and landed in Yorkville. Todd and Dana were the winners of the ReMax balloon ride, which was offered as a prize at the Galaxy Soccer Club's Great Lakes Soccer Challenge in September 2008. The prize was donated by Jeff Stainer, of The Stainer Team from ReMax Action. The Stainer Team is one of Galaxy's local sponsor's. Many thanks to Jeff for providing this prize!

COLLEGE SOCCER INFORMATIONAL MEETING
Galaxy Soccer Club recently hosted a College Soccer Informational Meeting, with guest speaker Paul Webster, Girls' Soccer Coach at Elmhurst College. Paul has many years of coaching experience at Division I, II, and III schools. Topics of discussion included choosing a school, NCAA requirements and eligibility, recruiting, and scholarships. It was a very informative meeting and gave our players and families much food for thought. Many thanks to Paul!

GALAXY SOCCER CLUB ALUMNI HONORED
Jack Abe (Naperville North HS), a senior forward at Hope College, has been named to the NSCAA adidas® Division III Great Lakes All-Region second team. Additionally, Jack was named to the coaches’ Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) All-Conference First team.
Kevin Bigart (Naperville Central HS), a senior midfielder at Case Western Reserve University, has been named to the NSCAA adidas® Men’s College Scholar All-America Team, College Division First team, to the All-University Athletic Association First Team, and to the 2008 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV Team
Tyler Cortez (Naperville North HS), a freshman forward at Carthage College has been named to the 2008 All-CCIW Second Team.
Jason Lopez (Neuqua Valley HS), a senior forward at Illinois Wesleyan has been named to the second team for the All-League Teams in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin.
Gregory Yao (Neuqua Valley HS), a senior defender at Illinois Wesleyan, has been name the Most Valuable Defensive Player for the 2008 Illinois Wesleyan Men's Soccer Team. In addition, Greg was also named to the second team for the All-League Teams in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin
