GALAXY U23 PLAYERS EARN POST-SEASON HONORS
Galaxy Soccer Club would like to congratulate several of its U23 players on successful college seasons:
Eric Nock, Tanner Nebbia, Eric Marofse, and Caleb Norton: Loyola Men's Team wins Horizon Conference Tournament and advances to NCAA Division I National Tournament
Andrew Abe: Hope College advance to NCAA Division III National Tournament Round of 16
Tyler Cortez: Carthage College makes NCAA Division III National Tournament after winning CCIW Tournament
George Elliott: Depauw advances to NCAA Division III National Tournament
Kyle Gorgol (Illinois Wesleyan University) named CCIW All-Conference 1st Team
Paul Box (North Central College) named CCIW All-Conference 2nd Team
Jim Kelly (Aurora University) named NAC All Conference 2nd Team

SUCCESS IN LIBERTYVILLE
Galaxy Soccer Club and Midwest United traveled to Libertyville over the weekend of October 8-9 and had a great deal of success. In the 2011 Octoberfest Classic, the Galaxy Soccer Club U12 Boys Black team finished in second place with a record of 3-1. In addition, the Midwest United U15 Select team finished runners-up while the Midwest United U17 Select team won the championship, going undefeated in the process. 
Several Galaxy Soccer Club and Midwest United teams performed well at the Great Lakes Soccer Challenge taking home 1st and 2nd place trophies. Congratulations to the following teams:

GALAXY ALUMNI LEAD BOWLING GREEN TO VICTORY
Last Friday, August 26th, Bowling Green State University upset #9 Michigan 2-0 in the first game of the NCAA season for both teams. Three former Galaxy players were in the starting lineup to help lead the Falcons over the visiting Wolverines. Goalkeeper Michael Weist and defenders Tanner Fink and Byard Ebling helped keep Michigan scoreless in front of a record crowd at BGSU. Congratulations to our Galaxy Alumni!
U17 BOYS BLUE SELECTED TO COMPETE IN US YOUTH SOCCER'S NATIONAL LEAGUE
The Galaxy Soccer Club U17 Boys Blue team have been accepted into the prestigious National League for the 2011-2012 season. The league is comprised of only the most competitive teams across the country and Galaxy is one of only two teams from Illinois in the U17 Division. The U17 Boys Blue team won the Premier Division of the Midwest Regional League this past Spring and won two games at the Region II Championships as well. Congratulations to the U17 Boys Blue team!
Galaxy Soccer Club Office Administrator, Patti Balsan, has been named Administrator of the Year by Illinois Youth Soccer for her outstanding contributions to our club. Patti has helped with every aspect of the every-day business of Galaxy Soccer Club over the last ten years and there is no doubt that the club would not be where it is today without her help. We are very proud and thankful to have Patti as a part of our staff so please be sure to congratulate her when you see her. Congratulations to Patti Balsan on being named the IYSA Administrator of the Year!
